Secure Integration

For the past 20 years, ID has been providing unique security services to its Defense and Intelligence Community clients and at ID, system security is the highest priority. We have adopted "best security" standards, practices and criteria in our ISO 2000 accredited integration center, and we also maintain a "security facility clearance" issued by the federal government. With the country's increased focus on security, we have further developed our security programs and are pleased to offer all of our government and commercial clients the benefits of our Secure Integration Process (SIP).

FDCC Compliance

Intelligent Decisions' SIP process can be used with FDCC compliant secure desktop requirements to meet the following security configurations developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS):

  • OMB Memo M-07-11
  • OMB Memo M-07-18
  • OMB Memo 31 July
  • OMB Memo 19 Dec

Seat Installation Service

ID has performed numerous large-scale “to-the-desk” installations for a number of customers. ID has established processes and procedures that enable us to install a tremendous number of systems with a relatively small installation team.

Configuration Management

Products and systems go through continual modification by their manufacturers, to correct problems and improve performance. These modifications include driver and BIOS updates and product changes; consequently, this will impact systems integration and operation. To ensure system support throughout the life of each ID integrated system’s configuration, all configurations are tracked and maintained. Currently, on several contracts ID manages over 55 image configurations. These configuration changes were a result of the numerous hardware and software changes made by the manufacturers. Each configuration is tracked to the serial number of each system. Consequently, we ensure the system’s configuration remains consistent.

Asset Tagging and Reporting

ID has the capability to apply asset tags to all products received for customers. ID has the space and personnel available to remove the product from the shipping containers, tag each item and return it to the proper shipping carton. ID has current processes in place that ensure error free asset tagging.

When products are purchased, serial numbers and other specific information is provided to ID electronically. From this information, ID produces other tracking documents such as build sheets and sales orders.

When received, the products are electronically matched against the sales order and serial numbers. This eliminates manual recording and tracking, thus ensuring accuracy and improving efficiency.

A build sheet accompanies all sales orders and configurations. This build sheet provides specific integration instructions per configuration. Each build sheet includes the system serial number and asset tag information. This allows the system to be easily cross-checked throughout the delivery process. This information can be easily provided to customers via numerous electronic means or retrieved from our web services.

Master Image Creation

ID develops and test image loads with our customers to insure operability with the systems being shipped. The image load is then developed to be a generic solution for as many models as possible. Occasionally, the image load may not contain specific drivers for new or improved systems to operate at peak performance. ID can optimize these loads to provide the highest level of performance and then present this information to the customer. With the customer’s approval ID will in turn load this image on the systems.

Image Archiving

As a back-up to customer site image copies, ID maintains archives of all system images.

Image Loading via Network or CD Sets

System images can be loaded via network or from CD sets, in those cases where security issues dictate.

Component-level Integration

ID can complete hardware configurations, per customer specifications that tier 1 manufacturers do not have the ability to complete. The solutions required by our customers typically include hardware and software components from several manufacturers. These components are integrated in to systems so that each operates to its fullest capability.

Testing and Burn-in

ID has a world-class test and integration center as a part of a secured, audited facility with production capacity in excess of 1,000 systems a day. Our testing and integration procedures have resulted in quality statistics that exceed the industry norm by as much as thirty fold. As an ISO 2000 -registered company, ID performs rigorous quality assurance testing on all products prior to delivery. ID maintains a state-of-the-art testing and burn-in center that ensures each system is thoroughly tested.

For each system, a performance log is created and reviewed by our Test Supervisor and Engineer to ensure every component performs to a level above the requirements of the manufacturer. If a component fails, it is immediately replaced and re-tested. Through testing and stringent quality control procedures, ID’s integrated systems perform at substantially higher levels of performance versus systems delivered directly from the manufacturers, thereby reducing support costs.

ID performs a two-step scanning process. The system is scanned as the last step in the software- loading process. The system is scanned a second time after all components are mechanically tested. This scan is performed just prior to the system being placed in the box for shipment. At this point, two scan labels are placed on the system. One label is placed on the PC or notebook, and the other is placed across the floppy drive bay to ensure that no additional media is inserted into the floppy drive. As a final precaution, all desktops and notebooks are loaded with Network Associate VirusScan, which performs a virus scan each time the system is powered on. This is an additional preventative measure to detect and remove any virus introduced after delivery.

Telephonic Support Level 1 and 2, and Spare Parts Inventory

ID can be the service call center and service coordinator for all servers, networking components, desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals supplied on contract, where the standard OEM warranty does not provide for level of service required by customers. For example, on a standard OEM warranty return policy, where defective parts must be replaced within short window upon receipt, ID will act as a intermediary to assist in service calls to OEM manufacturers for timely returns. To meet and exceed the needs of our customers, ID will develop an on-site spare parts inventory.
